Today is the 30th Death Anniversary of Appat Devaky Amma, our Grandmother.
30 years back, I was the last new born grandchild She could hold close to her to share her warmth. She departed when I was only 6 months old. Most of us weren’t so blessed to experience her warmth and love like our elder brothers and sisters.
It’s been 30 years. We haven’t seen her. We haven’t heard her sweet and soft voice. We haven’t been wrapped in her kindness. Yet, we love her like we have had her among us through all these years. She is literally living within us through the stories our parents and our people in the neighbourhood keep sharing. We have heard so much that how She even walk, behave, smile and talk.
